Swordandlaser Wiki

Description:[]

The Sword and Laser was part of the Geek & Sundry channel on YouTube, which was founded by Felicia Day, Kim Evey and Sheri Bryant. Season 1 of The Sword and Laser went live on April 13th, 2012, and concluded in 2013. All but a couple of the Geek & Sundry produced Sword and Laser videos are no longer accessible on Youtube. Most of the episodes listed below are linked from the Internet Archive.

The Geek & Sundry video show is similar to the audio podcast in many ways: both include questions and comments from the audience, author interviews, and book discussions. Full episodes were posted every other Friday, with bonus material posted on the alternating Thursdays.

Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, a second season of the video show was produced in 2014, independent of Geek & Sundry. Season 2 videos, hangouts, interviews and live podcast videos are available on Youtube. To find a particular episode, check out the Episode Guide.

Segments:[]

Quick Burns

This section of the show deals with news from the world of science fiction and fantasy. This can cover film adaptations, interesting tidbits about authors in the space, e-book and publishing news, and more.

Interviews

Interviews are conducted either in person (as with author Scott Sigler in Ep. 1) or via Skype video. The questions are written by Tom and Veronica, but they also frequently use questions asked by the viewers and listeners, pulled from dedicated threads on Goodreads or on Twitter.

Feedback

The feedback section (also known as "Bare Your Sword" on the audio podcast) includes discussion topics posted on Goodreads and viewer comments over email, YouTube videos, or tweets. Viewers are also encouraged to post their own 30 second book reviews to YouTube, to be played on the show.
